All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the New Research in Islamic Humanities Studies online submission system. Submissions must be made directly by the corresponding author(s) and not by email or through any third-party agent/proxy.
1. Online Submission and Account
• Access: Researchers may directly visit the journal site, register, and submit their papers based on author’s guidelines. The correct submission path is via the journal’s designated system (like ScholarOne, as mentioned in the general sources).
• Account Creation: If this is the first submission, the corresponding author must create a new account in the editorial system. The journal recommends authors use their ORCID ID (https://orcid.org) when submitting or acquire one via the process.
• Submission Files: During the process, the author must upload the four essential files, ensuring the main document is anonymized to comply with the double-blind peer-review policy.
2. Post-Submission Process
• Confirmation: Upon successful submission, the author will receive an automated email confirmation from the journal editor, including a manuscript number for all future correspondence.
• Initial Review: The submission is initially assessed by the editor for suitability and adherence to policies. This primary review typically takes approximately 10 days. The editor may reject the manuscript immediately if it does not fit the journal’s aims or scope.
• Peer Review: If deemed suitable, the manuscript enters the peer-review process. The average refereeing time is 8 weeks. The decision on acceptance or rejection is made by the editors, often guided by reports from at least two independent reviewers. The journal is highly selective, with an acceptance percentage of 30%.
• Revisions: If revisions (minor or major) are required, the author receives reviewer comments. The author must address all comments and resubmit the revised paper through the system.
• Final Decision and Publication: Once accepted, the article is sent for production. Authors will be asked to complete a publishing agreement. To support the sustainability of high-quality publishing and the broad dissemination of content, an Article Processing Charge (APC) of 15,000,000 Iranian Rials is applied to manuscripts that have successfully passed the peer-review process and reached final acceptance.
3. Transfer Service
If a manuscript is deemed unsuitable for NRIHS, the editor may suggest transferring the submission to a more suitable alternative journal, potentially via an article transfer service. If the author accepts, the manuscript and any existing reviewer reports may be transferred to expedite submission to the new venue.
