Objective: In its gradual revelation, the Holy Quran portrays the character of Prophet Abraham (AS) not all at once, but through a process of educational and developmental stages.
Method: This article employs a "revelational interpretation" approach and a "qualitative-educational analysis" method, utilizing the order of revelation of verses to examine the Quran's process of characterizing Prophet Abraham from the beginning of his mission to the station of Imamate of the nation.
Findings: The findings indicate that in the early Meccan surahs, the Quranic pattern introduces Abraham (AS) as a "seeker of truth"—a person who, through reflection on the horizons and within the self, moves from polytheism to monotheism. In the middle stages of revelation, elements such as "severe trials" and "migration" become prominent, and Abraham (AS) is presented as a model of submission and patience. In the Medinan and later Meccan verses, his character evolves into the "Imamate of the nation" and a "role model for the Islamic community." This revelatory progression shows that Quranic religious education begins with a stage of questioning and inner search, then consolidates through trial and migration, and finally culminates in the social status of leadership (Imamate).
