Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the structural relationships between spiritual intelligence, sense of coherence, and psychological flexibility among female students, with an emphasis on the mediating role of sense of coherence. This descriptive-correlational study utilized structural equation modeling. The population comprised female students at Al-Zahra University during the 2022-2023 academic year, with 240 participants selected via convenience sampling. Data were collected using King’s Spiritual Intelligence Questionnaire (2008), Rolffs et al.’s Psychological Flexibility Inventory (2018), and Antonovsky’s Sense of Coherence Scale (1987). Analyses were conducted using SPSS-26 and AMOS-24. Results indicated that spiritual intelligence had a significant direct effect on sense of coherence (β=0.57, p<0.001) and psychological flexibility (β=0.46, p<0.001). Sense of coherence also had a significant direct effect on psychological flexibility (β=0.33, p<0.001) and partially mediated the relationship between spiritual intelligence and psychological flexibility (β=0.188, p<0.001). Together, spiritual intelligence and sense of coherence explained 49% of the variance in psychological flexibility. These findings highlight the importance of enhancing spiritual intelligence and sense of coherence to improve psychological flexibility and well-being in female students, providing a basis for designing psychological interventions.
