Science comes to us every day with new things that confirm the greatness of the Creator and his ability to create, and also confirm the failure of science with all its methods and scientists to understand the secrets of the universe and the creatures in it. Designer babies, as the name suggests, are genetically customized embryos, in which the desired traits can be identified in pre-implantation diagnosis by screening with specific gene markers. These markers can identify specific non-disease gene(s) in addition to identifying disease-related gene(s). And can be used to highlight specific characteristics and traits such as intelligence, hair and eye color, and even viral resistance, for example in the current scenario of the Covid-19 pandemic. Many considered the idea of ​​designer babies to be a violation of the limits of legitimacy, a manipulation of human life, and an insult to human dignity. This study aims to explore the areas of use of genome editing in the creation of designer children, to explain its nature, its benefits and risks, as well as the reasons and possible evidence for its permissibility and prohibition, and to arrive at a comprehensive Islamic ruling that ultimately concludes the illegitimacy and prohibition of this practice by examining the possible consequences and risks and rejecting the evidence for the permissibility of this practice.
