Objective: The question of the embodiment of deeds and the quality of the reflection of human thoughts, ethics, and conduct in the hereafter is one of the deepest and most challenging discussions in the field of philosophical and theological eschatology. In the Islamic philosophical tradition, particularly in Transcendent Theosophy, this question transcends the level of a religious convention or theological allegory and has become a principle grounded in precise ontological and anthropological foundations. The present study undertakes to elucidate how the transient acts of the human being are transformed into substantial otherworldly realities.
Method: The present study employs a descriptive-analytical method with a critical approach. To this end, the primary texts of Transcendent Theosophy, the works of Ayatollah Javadi Amuli, and the views of Islamic theologians concerning the embodiment of deeds have been examined and analyzed. This method facilitates the systematic rereading of Sadrian foundations and the assessment of their efficacy in resolving theological objections.
Results: The findings indicate that, on the basis of the gradational principality of existence, the personal unity of the soul, and the fundamental principle of intensifying substantial motion, the voluntary acts of the human being persist within the context of the soul and gradually transform into firmly established dispositions (malakat) and then into imaginal (barzakhi) and otherworldly forms. In this regard, the profound analyses of Ayatollah Javadi Amuli in explicating the relation among action, conventional designation, and existential reality have paved the way for resolving the longstanding objections of theologians, such as the principle of the impossibility of the persistence of accident and the impossibility of the transmutation of substance.
Conclusions: The conclusion is that the otherworldly paradise and hell are identical with the presence of the very content of the human being's worldly deeds, which appear through embodiment in the hereafter. This explanation, while preserving the philosophical foundations of Transcendent Theosophy, offers a coherent and consistent reading of the verses and traditions concerning the resurrection and provides the ground for a constructive dialogue among philosophy, theology, and Quranic teachings.
