Abstract
Objective: This research analyzes the sociological challenges of realizing the modern Islamic civilization as articulated in the Statement of the Second Step of the Revolution, with a particular focus on structural and cultural obstacles. The study aims to identify the most significant structural barriers (including institutional inefficiency, underutilization of human capacity, and neglect of priorities) and cultural barriers (such as outward-looking orientation, weakness in insight and unity, and extremism) from the perspective of the Statement.
Method: Employing a qualitative content analysis approach with a descriptive-analytical method, this study examines the text of the Statement as the primary data source through purposive sampling.
Results: The findings reveal that these obstacles interact synergistically to disrupt social cohesion and progress; for instance, institutional inefficiency fosters cultural dependency, while weakness in unity diminishes human participation. Comparison with similar studies highlights the unique dimensions of Iran's challenges.
Conclusions: Recommendations include structural reform, strengthening self-belief, and promoting insight to overcome these barriers. By providing a theoretical and practical framework, this study contributes to the development of civilization-building literature and proposes solutions for realizing the Statement's objectives, which pave the way for human flourishing and preparation for the advent of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance).
