In the context of the wisdom-based tradition of the past, didactic stories have had an undeniable educational role by defining tales of imaginary heroes; television and cinema have always been the arena of the story of imaginary heroes; heroes who entertain and influence. In this article, using the model of Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey, we will search for the hero seeking a name in Saadi's The Puncher of Golestan to find out how wisdom and narrative are intertwined in the heart of this ancient story. In this study, the potential of this story is compared with films of the Hero's Journey genre. The purpose of this study is to emphasize the point that the narration of story-telling educational texts in cinema and television can, on the one hand, revive the modern potential of the tradition and, on the other hand, connect the younger generation to cultural sources.
