Abstract
Objective: The objective of this research is to elucidate the exalted status of human beings and their rights based on the divine worldview, as well as to examine the relationship between human rights and justice (as an intermediate goal) and the attainment of the vision of God (as the ultimate goal). This study seeks to critique the instrumentalist view of human rights held by colonial powers and to highlight the necessity of returning to the origin (God) and the end (the afterlife) to achieve a true understanding of human rights.
Method: This research employs a descriptive-analytical approach, drawing upon authentic Islamic revelatory sources, specifically the verses of the Holy Quran and the teachings of Imam Ali (AS) in the Nahj al-Balagha.
Results: The findings of this study demonstrate that human rights are exclusively ordained by God, and that human-made laws, due to the limitations of a materialist perspective, are insufficient to ensure human eternal felicity. In this regard, topics such as the distinction between "right" (haqq) and "ruling" (hukm), the necessity of accepting the truth, the rights of God over His servants, and the priority of public rights (huquq al-nas) have been analyzed. Furthermore, the findings emphasize that, contrary to the materialist worldview which limits human existence to the worldly life, the Alawi perspective delineates an infinite horizon for human rights.
Conclusion: The conclusion drawn from this discussion indicates that human rights in the Alawi school of thought have an inseparable bond with justice. Adherence to international covenants, alongside prioritizing human dignity and divine justice, paves the way toward spiritual enlightenment and ultimate perfection. In fact, knowledge of the origin and the resurrection constitutes the essential foundation for realizing true human rights within this framework.
