The present study aims to examine the relationship between cultural capital and identity crisis, with emphasis on the mediating role of the generational gap among students of Shiraz University. Additionally, a secondary objective of this research is to explain how cultural factors and intergenerational relationships interact in shaping the identity of young people. Method: In terms of purpose, this study is applied, and regarding the method of data collection, it follows a descriptive correlational design. The statistical population consisted of 349 students from Shiraz University who were selected through a multistage cluster random sampling method. The research instruments included the Cultural Capital Questionnaire by Sahami (2008), the Generational Differences Questionnaire by Nabavi (2003), and the Identity Crisis Questionnaire by Ahmadi (1997). The data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and regression analysis. Results: The results indicated that there is a significant relationship between cultural capital and identity crisis. The generational gap also showed a positive and significant relationship with identity crisis. Furthermore, cultural capital, through the mediating role of the generational gap, had a negative and significant effect on identity crisis. In addition, the findings revealed that the severity of identity crisis is considerably higher among individuals with lower levels of cultural capital and those who experience a greater generational gap. Conclusion: Based on the findings of the study, increasing cultural capital and reducing the generational gap can lead to a decrease in identity crisis and play a key role in the formation of a stable identity. Overall, the results suggest that strengthening intergenerational interactions and improving young people’s access to cultural resources can serve as effective strategies for reducing identity crisis. هدف: نوجوانان از گروه‌های اثرگذار در جامعه به شمار می‌روند و یکی از مهم‌ترین چالش‌های آنان، بحران هویت است. هدف پژوهش حاضر، بررسی رابطه میان سرمایه فرهنگی و بحران هویت با تأکید بر نقش واسطه‌ای شکاف نسلی در میان دانشجویان دانشگاه شیراز است. هدف فرعی پژوهش، تبیین نحوه تأثیر متقابل عوامل فرهنگی و روابط بین‌نسلی بر شکل‌گیری هویت جوانان است. روش پژوهش: این پژوهش از نظر هدف، کاربردی و از نظر روش گردآوری داده‌ها، توصیفی – همبستگی است. جامعه آماری شامل ۳۴۹ نفر از دانشجویان دانشگاه شیراز بود که با روش نمونه‌گیری تصادفی خوشه‌ای چندمرحله‌ای انتخاب شدند. ابزارهای پژوهش شامل پرسشنامه سرمایه فرهنگی سهامی (2008)، پرسشنامه تفاوت‌های نسلی نبوی (1382) و پرسشنامه بحران هویت احمدی (1376) بود. داده‌ها با آزمون همبستگی پیرسون و تحلیل رگرسیون تحلیل شدند. یافته‌ها: نتایج نشان داد که میان سرمایه‌های فرهنگی و بحران هویت رابطه معنادار وجود دارد. شکاف نسلی با بحران هویت رابطه مثبت و معنادار دارد و سرمایه‌های فرهنگی نیز از طریق نقش واسطه‌ای شکاف نسلی به صورت منفی و معنادار بر بحران هویت اثر می‌گذارد. علاوه‌بر این، نتایج نشان داد که شدت بحران هویت در افرادی که از سرمایه فرهنگی پایین‌تری برخوردارند و شکاف نسلی بیشتری تجربه می‌کنند، به‌مراتب بیشتر است. نتیجه‌گیری: بر اساس یافته‌های پژوهش، افزایش سرمایه فرهنگی و کاهش شکاف نسلی می‌تواند به کاهش بحران هویت منجر شود و نقش کلیدی در شکل‌گیری هویت پایدار ایفا کند. در مجموع، نتایج بیانگر آن است که تقویت تعاملات بین‌نسلی و بهبود دسترسی جوانان به منابع فرهنگی می‌تواند به عنوان راهبردی مؤثر برای کاهش بحران هویت مورد استفاده قرار گیرد.
